Salomon Men’s X Ultra Pioneer Mid Climasalomon Waterproof Hiking Boot

I have been through about a dozen pair of the GTX mids, and a couple of the trail runners. And I was very happy with those. I had previously been through several pairs of the Merrell Moabs. But switched to Salomon after the build quality/QC of the Merrells got spotty. The quality of this model is good. But it has a couple of issues with the design. The tongue is too narrow and leaves a gap at the top. And, the saddest part is they shorter than all my other mids. They lack that extra half an inch or so of side ankle support. But taller than my rail runners and would not work good for that.
